A Washington band making conversational Christian music since 2002.
For a good sense of their sound, try "Walking Away" or "Just To Get To Me." They're the kind of songs that work whether you're in a church or just driving around.
Unspoken's songs like "Lift My Life Up" and "Walking Away" have straightforward pop arrangements that feel more like personal reflection than overt preaching. They've worked with other Christian artists like Ryan Stevenson and Francesca Battistelli, but their approach stays conversational rather than doctrinal. Their 2012 debut album featured the single "Reason" that helped bring them wider attention.
They formed in Spokane, Washington in 2002, with Chad Mattson, his brother Joel, and friend Jon Lowry starting out playing local gigs. Their second album "Follow Through" included tracks like "Who You Are" and "Start a Fire," continuing in a similar vein of accessible pop-rock with themes of perseverance. Later releases included deluxe and acoustic versions of the "Reason" material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
