Valadir formed in Magdeburg in 2005 with vocalist Patrick Otto, guitarist Maik Lindner, bassist Thomas Konietzny, and drummer Stephan John. They spent their early years playing small clubs around Germany, building a following through relentless touring.
Their 2010 debut album 'Aus Der Asche' gave them their breakthrough, with the title track becoming something of an anthem. The album's raw aggression drew some criticism at the time, but it established their sound. They followed it with 'Aus Der Asche II' and songs like 'Der Tag An Dem Die Sonne Ging' and 'Gegen Die Zeit'.
Over subsequent albums, their sound shifted toward more progressive territory while keeping that heavy foundation. They've maintained the same lineup since forming, which is unusual for a metal band that's been around this long.
