Дикие птицы с ним вместе поют песню его удалую.
Но темные силы всегда на пути капканы свои расставляют:
У Макоши - матери выкрав клубок, вдруг нитку судьбы обрывают.
Прервался последний осенний мотив, лишь Мьельнир о землю коснулся.
И птицы замолкли, и зверь застонал.… Домой менестрель не вернулся.
Светлая память пройдет по земле. Звонкие песни играя,
К людям теперь он приходит во сне, все тот же мотив напевая.
Так дайте ж нам Боги добраться скорей к порогу отцовского дома.
Пей же народ и гуляй веселей, может, увидимся снова.
