Merry-go-round

She's a little girl, about eighteen

Pretty as a picture, look

She sells tickets on the merry-go-round

She's the reason I'm off the ground

After every ride she walks slowly

Between the horses holding out her hand

That's the time I want to hold her

Guess I'll have to understand

Merry-go-round, stop making me giddy

I've got to make that little girl mine

Later on, I find I'm out of money

Have to start to walk away through the stair

Then she walks on up beside me

Arm in arm we leave the fair

Spend a lovely time together

Soon I have to take her home

So we step inside her merry-go-round

Riding around in a world of our own
