Your Last Breath formed in New Hampshire in 2010 with Alex Garcia on vocals, Kyler Kline and Michael Ficco on guitar, Brian Maskell on bass, and Justin Lamparelli on drums. They released their debut album 'Year of the Plague' and followed it with records like 'Awakening' and 'Threads'. Guitarist Michael Ficco left the band in 2015.
Their song 'Cuts Like These Leave Scars' became a notable track in their catalog, alongside others like 'Diary Of A Sinner, First Entry' and 'I Went To Villa's And They Shot Me In The Face'. Garcia's lyrics often touched on personal struggles, which gave their music a direct, unfiltered quality.
They worked within metalcore, building songs around heavy guitar riffs and melodic passages. The band's sound developed across their albums, but kept that balance of aggression and melody that defined their early material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
