Ze Noiz formed in São Paulo in the early 2010s around Henrique Portugal on vocals and guitar, Gabriel Thomaz on bass, and Rafael Moreira on drums. Their music mixed electronica, rock, and punk in ways that didn't fit neatly into existing genres. They released their debut album 'Disconnect' in 2014.
Some of their lyrics drew attention for social and political commentary. The song 'Back' was singled out at one point over questions about its lyrics, though the band maintained it was their own work. Other tracks like 'Blower' and 'New York 21' appeared in their setlists around that period.
Later albums included 'No Future' and 'Horizon.' The lineup expanded to include Estevão Casé on keyboards and Luan Corrêa handling electronics. They worked with Carlinhos Brown at some point, and Nina Simone's name came up in connection with their collaborations too.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
