Zelfhaat is a Dutch black metal band that formed in the early 2000s around guitarist and vocalist Tim 'Teloch' Wolff. Their debut album 'Altijd Lijden' came out in 2003, establishing their raw, depressive sound with tracks like 'Beklagenswaardig Bestaan' and 'Zielenpijn' that explored themes of suffering and despair.
The band continued releasing music through the 2000s with albums like 'Zelfmoord' in 2007 and 'Negatief' in 2009.
Over time, the lineup shifted with Teloch remaining the constant member. Bassist Robbert de Wit and drummer Yanik Lucas have been part of the group in later configurations. Their music found an audience in the underground metal scene, particularly among listeners drawn to their bleak, cathartic approach.
