Zita Swoon formed in Antwerp, Belgium in 1998 around Stijn Vanhoegaerden. The band's early lineup included Mario Goossens on drums and Ann Vandaele on bass, but eventually settled with Jef Neve on piano and Andy Moors on guitar. Their debut album 'A Kiss from the Stars' came out in 2003, followed by 'Life: How Fast It Goes' in 2005 and 'I Paint What I See' in 2008.
Their songs like '3 Angels Song' and 'A Stranger Came To Our Party And Changed Things' show the band's particular approach to art-rock. The music often blends rock with jazz elements, and Vanhoegaerden's lyrics tend toward introspective themes. The current lineup includes Vanhoegaerden on vocals and guitar, Neve on piano, Moors on guitar, Goossens on drums, and Rune Nergaard on bass.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
