laid in bed hating the world

i laid in bed waiting for the sky to fa-a-hall.

and somewhere else you were laying in be-e-hed.

hating the world like i have just sai-ai-aid.

and nobody would tell me and nobody would tell you-ou-ou.

there's someone out there doing exactly what you do-o-o.

it would have made it so much more worthwhile

if we could've married and had a child

(at least that's what they say.)

i laid in bed awaiting catastrophe-e-e.

wondering why your sleep didn't give you rest.

he would've had small fingertips

and learned to smile and sing and sit

much like you

we would've sent the pictures to

the relatives so they could view

our little boy
