Harnessing the Storm

A warning sounds across the land,

another plea to run.

I'll find mine away from here.

The dream plays back in less than half the time,

a motionless crusade waged by plastic minds and everything that draws us here.

We sit in silence waiting for the words to seep out from our pores.

It's exactly as I feared.

I followed a whim,

got drawn in,

but the ending's still so clear.

And when the shadows have learned to embrace one another in ways two enamored only speculate,

it's all a farce from this point on...Back on the edge,

I'm back on the edge will I make it?

With every last breath,

every ounce of strength left I push it further and further with no end in sight.

'Cuz there's something inside that won't let me hide...in me so long.

I'm coming up next,

shattering glass,

to make every moment last I've made my decision.

With our ship torn apart,

we'll harness the storm,

high above on tidal waves we ride.

We're picking up speed,

I'm starting to see a distant shore emerging from the blank horizon.
