Convalescence

I understand it

My entire life I was

Searching for nothing (nothing)

Living just for living

But now I feel

The will to live consuming me

I felt shallow, empty

Trapped in my own past

I am too young to think I know something about life

I know that each day I can be a better version of me

I'm trying to be better

I just need to trust myself

I need to be the difference I want to see

I'm not haunted by my past

My scars are part of me

Remorse is a prision

I'm no longer trapped in

I want to be all I can be

A man who walks on his own

And I know I can be

I'm trying to be better

And I won't let me drag myself down
